God For Sinners Devotional Series - Don't let the world burn you....
Don't
let the world burn you out. When you become serious about God, He gives
you new vision so you no longer look at the things of the world and
find them cute, funny, or entertaining. In fact, they can began to
grieve your spirit in such a way that the enemy will use this to push
you into a religion judgmental bitter attitude which hardens your heart
toward the very people God has sent you to serve. It is the sinners God
sends His disciples to heal, share the good news, and help and even when
they rebuke you and you see the soil is hard or their hearts are
hard...it is not our place to pass judgment and become angry. I am
guilty of this myself.
God reminded me of my own time in the
world and how many people I offended with my conduct and actions... how
many time I threw caution and salvation to the wind and indulged in the
flesh and sinful ways without shame or remorse...in fact I would gloat
about it... so, as He so gently reminded me....don't be so quick to get
up on your high horse looking down on those who won't heed the words God
sends to others, it took Him quite a long time to get me out of the
world and there is still work being done to clean me up so who am I to
judge how quickly someone else is growing or their actions?
We
just need to focus on being obedient and doing the work God called us
to do. We may not see it in the natural but seeds are being planted and
sometimes, it takes a while to sprout...sometimes people have to go
through things before they sprout.... sometimes, people will go to the
depths of [what seems to be] hell and back before the seed can
sprout...and then there are those who just aren't good soil at all but
they still need to hear the word so it can never be said "I didn't
know". This is not to say that you need to surround yourself with those
you know aren't doing right- rather, you should spend all the more time
in prayer for them and being obedient to any form of service God
requires you to give that person.. be it by His Word (through you) or
Deeds. We are called to LOVE....don't let the enemy use your love for
God against you.....this is how people end up becoming those people God
talks about in Isaiah 29:13
"The Lord says: "These people come
near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their
hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules
taught by men." Selah.
