Though they Shun You...Let Your Light Shine! (God For Sinner Devotional Series)

When people begin to attack you because of your praise and your openness/ willingness to speak about God...when they begin to separate themselves or they seem to have hardened hearts....when it gets to the point where some people won't even SPEAK to you  and don't want you around because "everything is about God and she/he think they to holy", when you stop getting invitations to social outings and you aren't included in the "crew"....when you find yourself being the outcast among those who once embraced you (when you were in the world)--- KEEP IT UP!!!

People only react like that when they are being convicted by the Spirit! Don't you hide your light! SHINE ON! SHINE BRIGHT! SHINE FOR OUR FATHER!!! So don't feel you need to change...don't quiet down... praise Him all the more, shout all the more, bless God all the more, share His word ALL THE MORE - right where you are!!!

Darkness cannot stand in the presence of light...trust me, it's not you it's them. Selah!

John 3:19 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.”

"Everyone will hate you because you are committed to Me [Christ]. But the person who patiently endures to the end will be saved." ~Matthew 10:22

Isaiah 66:5 “Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your brothers who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy!' Yet they will be put to shame.”

John 15:18, 19 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me [Jesus] first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

John 15:21 “They will treat you this way because of My name [Christ], for they do not know the One who sent Me.”

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Wrote a song of worship today! Wanna hear it? Here it goes:

I asked God to take me to a new level of worship....LOL...and today, He had me write a worship song today.... the first of many I am sure... LOL, He never gives me something and stops... not trying to be a singer or Mary Mary or any of that, so don't think that's what this is about. I was just so moved by this song I wanted to share. Hope you like it. God Bless!

Who cares what they say? What God has for YOU is for YOU! (Give myself away by William McDowell music included)

Sometimes, you just don't have the words to express how you feel to the Father...and you know what? That's ok! Today I was praying and praying and I just couldn't get it all out - and then God brought me this song and I said - YES LORD, THIS IS HOW I FEEL!

How many people are really willing to give themselves away for God? And this has nothing to do with your church, religion, what your preacher or pastor told you - I'm talking about giving YOUR SELF to GOD...on your own?

So many of us have these jacked up relationships with God because we allow to many other people come in and tell you what God wants for you and how He wants you to do it, when and where...telling you - it has to be like this - there is no way God is in that but how do they know?

What God has for YOU is for YOU. When God calls YOU He calls YOU. What's keeping you from Him other than YOU? You can't blame religion, you can't blame church folk, hypocrites, those who judge and condemn - tell you, you are not worthy. God is saying NO MORE OF THOSE EXCUSES!

So many long for God...but are too afraid to serve Him because of what they've been told and what people will think...what others may say if they do serve God - you feel you won't be accepted by God or by others..... but let me tell you, step outside those lies and I DARE YOU to run to God today. Play this song of worship, sing the songs, if you don't know Christ but you want to - ask Him into your heart by simply asking for forgiveness of your sins, confessing Jesus is Lord and you believe He died for our sins and was raised from the grave and begin to spend time with Him in prayer and study.

If people rebuke you for trying to know God - turn to someone who won't...heck if you need to reach out to me, leave me a comment and I'll reach out to you - but whatever you do, DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU GOD CAN'T USE YOU AND DOESN'T"T LOVE YOU - DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THE SACRIFICE OF CHRIST IS NOT FOR YOU!

You can know Him and love Him and have your life restored to Him, where you will begin to walk in peace and joy! The promises of God ARE for YOU! Receive them with an open heart.

I love you, but know, God loves you so much more!!!

Are You Serving God from Fear or Love - On Your Own Follow Up (God for Sinners Devotional Series)

On Your Own:

1. Spend some time alone this evening writing down your reasons for serving God.

2. Ask God to show you any areas where you are operating out of fear instead of faith and love and then look up scriptures on love and fear and write them in your prayer journal/devotional.

3. Pick your favorite seven scriptures about love and fear and write them on cards and place them in places around your home where you can see them, memorize one each week for the next seven weeks.

4. Tell someone in your life that you know is walking with God faithfully about your fears and ask them to be an accountability partner, encouraging you and helping you learn to seek God from a place of love and reverence rather than fear.

5. Seek out books and sermons on intimacy with God, if you don’t know how to do this, let  me know and I’ll refer some or ask someone you know who has a faithful relationship with God.

Here’s mine:

Romans 8:15 “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba, Father.” (NLT)

Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!”

1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

1 John 4:19 “We love Him because He first loved us.” NKJV

1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Proverbs 8:17 “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.”

Are You Serving God From Fear or Love - Closing Words (God for Sinner Devotional Series)

Breakdown:

Think about it this way, if you sacrifice for someone you love dearly, you don’t expect them to return your love and sacrifice by thinking you are evil and you are someone to be feared. In fact, that would possibly hurt you to have to constantly try to encourage your loved one not to be afraid of you. That’s how it is with God, He created us, He sacrificed His only Son for us, He loved us even when we didn’t love Him and He desires to show us just how much He really loves us with His blessings. The bible is filled with promises and blessings and chronicles that urge us to choose God and serve God from a pure heart of love – so imagine how He feels when we serve Him just to keep Him “appeased” so that we don’t end up in hell or to please someone else in our life to gain their approval or whatever it is we feel we need from them. Imagine the slap in the face that would be if someone did that to you? So why do we so easily do it to our Father?

Yes, Hell is real and yes we should have a fear of God but not in the natural sense – not in the fight or flight sense. We should serve God out of love for Him, out of a pure desire to know Him- intimately. Anything less than this is cheating you – not Him, though He longs to welcome you into the family of faith and He longs to see you have life to the full, in abundance as He sent His Son Christ to give – but God is so good that He will not force Himself on anyone – God is not and has never been a rapist and He won’t start now.

Don’t let the enemy fool you. God is Love and we should serve Him from a place of love with a reverential fear that = respect, awe, admiration, honor – from this we are compelled to obedience because we Love God and we recognize that He loves us… more than we can fathom, even better than we love ourselves. And this type of love produces change within and develops the fruits of the spirits and helps you to stand up under trials and persecutions, it helps you trust God during times of discipline rather than view Him as a big mean angry bully.

Remember when Adam and Eve first entered the garden? They had free range and frolicked naked and free without a care in the world. There was no fear, they were ignorant to such a thing because they had no reason to fear by human standards – not until they sinned and ate the fruit. What’s the first thing they did when they heard God coming? Hid themselves – I’m sure partly out of shame for their nakedness but primarily out of fear because they knew (after eating from the tree of Good and Evil) they had done evil in God’s sight. This is the first instance of fear in the bible and it comes only after the fall of man – being seduced by the enemy into sin which gives birth to guilt which gives birth to fear and the cycle continues. The enemy has been doing this for centuries – it’s time for us to stop being mere babies walking into the traps of the enemy as if we don’t know better. The time is out.

If you’ve been serving God out of a place of fear, today is the day to STOP. Right now, this is your warning, this is your word, this is your breakthrough right here – STOP and seek God to help you overcome that fear and serve Him out of love and reverence. Get books on the Love walk, How God loves and views You (the individual), intimacy with God; study His word, listen to sermons on these topics (Joyce Meyer as TONS!), spend much time in prayer (yes, much) talking to God directly  – these things will help you learn how to view and serve God correctly (with Love) or for those who are serving God to please others, they will introduce you to intimacy and relationship with Him that will help you see God for yourself and serve Him correctly.

God wants a relationship with YOU, yes YOU, a serious, ongoing, eternal one – that will supersede any other relationship you’ve ever had or will ever have on this earth – yes it even that one.  Make a choice right now today, if you have been living in fear to rededicate your life to Christ out of Love and out of a pure heart to know Him and Him alone. Will you accept?
